Meat Grinder Sam Baere
Meat Grinder Sam Baere
Looking for recommendations for a meat grinder?
We raw feed our pets. Raw feeding requires grinding meat, including the bones… mostly chicken… occasionally turkey… no beef. And I’m getting REAL tired of our old-timey hand grinder.
Two models we are considering are:
1. Deni Commercial Food Grinder model 3500 (1HP – 800 watts)
2. Sam Baere model SB-810 (1HP)
Does anyone have any experience with either of these two grinders… Why you like (or dislike) it? Any other recommendations that won’t break the bank in cost?
Thanks for your advice.
Mike: Our vet is the one that encouraged us to do this. Pets do fine with RAW bones. It’s the cooked ones that cause problems. Our pets are all gorgeous and thriving on this diet. And when you look at the cost of high quality commercial food and are careful where you buy the meat (we shoot for about $1/pound), the cost is about the same.
Oh. . ! !
so you know the cleanup mess they make and the storage problems
Funny you do bones and may need 1HP
I would toss them and use dry pet food high in calcium and get a 1/3HP for less than $50
besides pets do not really digest the bones they just pass them out
